Purification, Tonification, and the Body
We just set up the โrebounderโ again, and I couldn't be happier. I love bouncing on this funny little trampoline, and it's deceptively challenging. I put on my rebounder playlist, and I rarely make it to the end. I feel good and flushed and open afterward, and then I'm sore later in the day. Especially on days when it's been a while since I've used it, which is today!
While it's tonifying and strengthening for the body, one of the big selling points of the rebounder for me was the purification aspect. I've got one of those psychologies that is just obsessed with purity and purification. I don't know where it came from (a perinatal matrix, perhaps?), and psychedelic use has often heightened it. It plays against another psychedelic-fueled awareness that everything is perfect just as it is.
So there I am, bouncing (literally) between "I need to be more pure and perfect", and "I'm totally perfect just as I am"
What a polarity. And I know that both of these thought forms have their benefits, and they also have their shadows.
You get it. Part of our deep work is to be willing to strive towards betterment, while still recognizing that we're good enough just as we are. An inventory of shortcomings is no excuse to fall into self-loathing.
This rebounder helps me with this. It serves both needs. It stimulates the lymphatic system, promoting drainage and detoxification in a very real way. It gets the blood flowing as well, and one can certainly work up a sweat. On the flip side, it releases endorphins, which are good for my mood, and tonifies my vagus nerve, promoting feelings of well-being. I feel like it's got to do something good to my sympathetic nervous system, too, but I don't know what, and I don't feel like asking Chat GPT.
We know the mind, body, and emotions are part of one interconnected holistic system. We know that when we move our bodies, our brain works better, we respond to stress, and we have a better perspective.
It works the other way, too. When we take time to acknowledge our emotions, tensions have a way of releasing. It's nothing short of miraculous. When we experience this at play for the first time, it's a total game changer. And if we get to introduce someone to this reality, it's as great as introducing them to our favorite band.
There is nothing better than guiding a client through some sort of somatic practice that shows them that there are old emotions stored in muscle tension. It's a joy and an honor to witness this kind of revelation.
But I digress. The point is, if we want to know ourselves, we've got to know our bodies. And if we want to know our bodies, we've got to move our bodies. There is no integration without the integration of the body. This includes both purifying it and tonifying it. And doing it with an attitude of kindness.

The Gatekeeper of Depth!
The Facilitator as the Gatekeeper of Depth with Susan Guner
Friday, May 16th at Noon Eastern Time - $30 or free with Golden Road โRegister Hereโ
This talk was made possible through an introduction from Zaira!
This talk explores the facilitatorโs pivotal role in medicine workโnot as a neutral guide, but as an active gatekeeper of depth. Based on a hypothesis drawn from over a decade of field experience with clients navigating complex childhood trauma, it suggests that clients cannot access levels of healing beyond the consciousness of the one holding them. The facilitator unconsciously sets the threshold of what is permissible in the space, defining the limits of transformation. Healing is not just about the medicineโitโs about whoโs holding the field
Susan Guner is a holistic psychotherapist with a mindfulness-based approach grounded in Transpersonal Psychology, focusing on trauma-informed, community-centric processes that offer a broader understanding of human potential and well-being.
She is the host of the Psychedelic Conversations Podcast, a UK-based educational platform featuring voices at the forefront of the Psychedelic Renaissanceโfacilitators, researchers, and change-makers driving the evolution of psychedelic consciousness work.
Susan is also the founder of Reset, a trauma-informed, six-week group microdosing integration program grounded in a community-centric approach.
